DRAFT HOUSE RESTORATION: Proprietors Charles John "Bud" Hart (AIA, NCARB) & Lissa Lowe, Creative Director (Charlie's mom)

LIFESTYLE-FOCUSED & EXPERIENTIAL

Set inside a miner’s cabin built in the early 1900’s located in the historic village of Gold Hill, Draft House has been lovingly restored to bring a sense of place and purpose into the community.

To do so, we kept its historical integrity by selecting handmade, textural materials and a mixture of vintage and new furnishings for the space to feel welcoming as if visiting a dear friend’s home.

Unlacquered brass, hand-formed ceramic tiles, earthy cotto grigio terracotta next to original time-worn wood flooring, hand-drawn wallpaper, various stone surfaces, and Farrow & Ball paints lend a homespun quality to the interior, offering a new point of view.

By reinventing the space as a modern-day corner shop—where nearly every item is available for purchase—guests can step back in time and bring a bit of merriment home too.
